| A new 35 level tower is to be built on Shams island, a new development off the coast of Abu Dhabi. The corner condition at the edge of the central park provided an exceptional location, asking for an exceptional design. The concept of an inscription of a rising movement, from the horizontal to the vertical gives the impression that the tower is soaring toward the sky. The notational system of the window grid registers the multiple positions of the five repetitive volumes, establishing an internal dialogue suggesting a vertical displacement. |
